Nausea...Pain in Stomach/Ovaries..Thinning Hair..What's Wrong?

My period was three weeks late first of all. It arrived, disappeared and then showed up again. Primarily, bleeding was light, then went to its normal consistency for me and lasted 9 days as it usually does. I was fine but since the past few days I've had really bad nausea all day, diarrhea, chills, aches and pains in my stomach. I also had sex with my boyfriend and bled afterwards (but i suspect that it was because he was a bit rough.) I have done two pregnancy tests which have both been negative, and I've also been to my GP who also said I wasn't pregnant.

I'm 19 years of age and apart from this, I'm in good health. However I am very overweight. I'm not on any form of contraceptive, but use contraception every time I have sex.

Hmmm yea, female problems are very tough to pinpoint. Did you get the nauseas, diarrhea, chills, and pains in your stomach DURING your period? Because if so, it could be that you're having an irregular menstrual cycle, since you even stated that you were 3 weeks late, which will lead me to another thing that I will state later on...

My cycle was irregular and I had the worst symptoms, like those you described, and it happened EVERY month, imagine going through that! They gave ibuprofen that had higher doses and put me on birth control to regulate my period. Those two things help and the symptoms were practically gone!

At 19 though, I noticed that my period was really irregular, having it delayed, and spotting throughout a month. A month later I went to the hospital because of a ruptured cyst. Cysts form in every girl but disappears, but at times they form and create a mass on your ovaries. Then all of a sudden, they burst and you'll start bleeding and having incredibly bad stomach pains. But I don't think you had a ruptured cyst because this is excruciating pain.. oh believe me, it calls for a few hours or days at the hospital, and sometimes even surgery. I'm just saying that you should go to the doctors on a regular basis and let them know about what's been happening and that way they can provide some medication, put you one some sort of diet ( I was put on a banana's, bread, and mashed potato diet when I lost my appetite and couldn't eat.), etc.

If the problems persist, they can also look into possibly getting food poisoning, appendicitis, and all sorts of other diagnosis that they can hopefully find!

Go to the doctor ... not for a pregnancy test.. it has been established that isn't the problem. I am thinking you have PCOS.. Poly-cystic Ovarian syndrome.

You could have a sist in your ovarie. Ask for an ultra sound.

I agree you should go to your doc and get checked for PCOS. Don't worry its not life threatening but its better to find out now if you have it than later when you have more symptoms.

Poly Cyst Ovarian Syndrome, or PCOS might be the cause.

Ovarian cysts. Hormonal dysfunction affecting some women. Deficient pituitary gland. Strange about the diarrhea though.

Have a thorough check-up and try to start losing weight, obesity will only add to your health problems. All the best I hope it turns out OK for you.
