Mine is really thick too. I have my hair dresser razor it. She takes a little razor %26amp; just thins the hair by cutting some of it without changing the length. It's simple. The word "razor" freaked me out, but it works perfectly. Your hair really can't get messed up by having your hair dresser razor it. The only problem MIGHT be it being a little frizzy, nothing major. I guess it depends on your hair. And yes, it will just be thin if you have it razored. My hair dresser does it after she's taken the length that I want off my hair, so when she razors it, it doesn't change the length, just the thickness. Ask the person who does your hair about it. Good luck, it's a great way to thin your hair. I hated mine because it's so thick but now that it's thinner it's a lot easier :]

Every time you get your hair cut you get your hair thinned. Ask and they will do it for you. It doesn't damage it. And it grows back so in about 6 weeks you can get it thinned out again.

There are different options to having your hair managed. My ex is a hair-dresser and I was never quite happy with my hair. Depending on the length, you can take some hair closes to your neck and braid it. So then it appears there isn't so much hair. Or you can have it thinned with scissors. All they do is cut chunks of hair so the hair lays flatter because volume has been taken out. The hair grows back and some times you havehair springing out as it grows. Best bet is to relax your hair and then flat iron it. Hope I've helped.

1st of all I am like you too.. extremely thick hair and I THOUGHT I wanted it to be thinned out.. I went yesterday to the hair dressers to get it thinned out.. and it was the biggest mistake of my life... If your used to thick hair I dont recommend it... but then again I liked my thick hair.

1. they can thin it by using a razor to cut your hair.. sounds scary but it takes alot of bulk out... as I got... Then after the hair is cut and dried they will go back in with thinning sheers and cut out even more bulk... like I had...

2. I dont think theres any one particular way to get it thinned. Generally if you have layers they do it by the ends of the layers to give it a whispy texture.

3. I'm not sure your hair can get MESSED up.. unless they thin it too close to your scalp which when your hair grows it'll stick up in areas. However, thinning your hair really does thin it and takes out 1/2 the bulk.. so think it over.. dont jump right in like me.. I regret it.

4. It will be thin but it'll make the cut and style stand out alot more... as you probably know thick hair sits heavy and flat... the thinning out add's volume and texture.
