What's the difference between fine and normal hair and thin hair?

i was recently looking at certain shampoos and they have said for hair thats fine and normal or for hair thats thin. whats the difference?

thin is not too many hair folicles on your scalp

sometimes these two are used to mean the same thing--small diameter hair
