My sister 27 yrs old has been experiencing thinning of hair and hair loss since 3-4 yrs . (possibly triggered off by stress and dieting).Her test results of hormones ,blood , sugar etc r normal . Dermotologists prescribed Minoxidil /Mintop .This was of little help and the hair growth is reversible once the medicine is stopped . Is there any cure for this condition

Same thing happened to me. I lost so much! I filled a plastic cup in two days to show my doctor. :(((((

But I had an eating disorder. Vomiting triggered the hair loss and after I kicked vomiting because my hair meant more to me it still kept falling out! :( It has been falling out now going on the 3rd year. I had the SAME TEST done and all was fine. I don't know what to think of it. Medication didn't help nor did Rogaine with regrowth.

I use combs now and extra conditioner so I don't pull out the weak roots of regrowth. I live in the country and started wondering if it could be the hard water too.

I use nioxin cleanser for fine hair. early stages of thinning and that makes a bit of difference with strengthening it. it's spendy but I use it. the phase 1.

Sounds like your sister is suffering from androgenetic alopecia. Even though there are plenty of treatments such as minoxidil, I do not think there is a cure.

Is she in some kind of depression or over-stress?That might be the reason for hair loss.

Also, dandruff might be the cause of hair loss.Use a good anti-dandruff shampoo.
